Vaccinations

Vaccinations strengthen your dog’s immune system against illnesses.

Every pet is different when it comes to vaccinations. It is important to know that your dog’s vaccine needs can vary depending on age, travel plans, and lifestyle. There is no one size fits all protocol.

What vaccines do you offer?

There are a number of vaccines available to aid in the protection of disease. Our team of healthcare professionals are available to review and answer any questions you may have in understanding your dog’s vaccination needs. Some common diseases that vaccines are available for include:

  • Canine Distemper
  • Infectious Canine Hepatitis (aka Adenovirus)
  • Leptospirosis
  • Parvovirus
  • Parainfluenza
  • Bordetella
  • Lyme Disease
  • Rabies (legal requirement in some cities)

Is there a schedule for how often to vaccinate a dog?

Immunity through dog vaccinations is different based on the disease. Your pet’s lifestyle, age and other risk factors are all considered when discussing your pet’s individual exposure risk. This will be reviewed regularly at your dog’s annual check-up.

Why is it important to vaccinate your dog?

Dog vaccinations help prevent the spread of contagious disease and help protect your pet from a number of potentially serious and even fatal diseases. The vaccine stimulates the animal’s immune system to produce antibodies. If your animal is later exposed to that disease, the immune system will then react quickly to eliminate the disease-causing agent.

How much do dog vaccinations cost?

Typically, the charge for the vaccine is minimal. Before the administration of any vaccine, your pet will receive a full physical examination to determine if there are any underlying factors to be considered prior to vaccination. Vaccinations cost considerably less than the treatments available for the diseases pets are normally vaccinated against.
