Assisting pet owners in treating the underlying reasons behind their dog's behavioural issues.
Distress doesn’t always have a physical cause. Our veterinarians and staff are knowledgeable in diagnosing and treating various disorders such as separation anxiety and obsessive behaviours. We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching. Sometimes you may have a particular issue that you need to address with your dog that may benefit from some one-on-one training as opposed to a group class. It is always important to discuss this with your veterinarian and trainer.
A dog counsellor can help you formulate a specific training plan for your pet’s unique needs. Sometimes having an outside perspective can help you see what you may need help with.
During the consultation, your veterinarian will ask you specific behaviour questions about your pet. Sometimes this includes the dog being present but depending on your pet’s needs it may not be needed. The better we understand what’s going on, the better we can help.
It is best to check with your insurance provider, but some plans will cover the cost of a consultation.
After the consultation, your pet may require a follow-up consult to gauge his or her improvement.
