Despite our best efforts, cats and dogs do not live as long as humans and saying goodbye to a faithful companion will always be difficult. Being able to provide a peaceful goodbye is one of the kindest things you can do for your companion. When the time comes, we will ensure your pet’s comfort and dignity.

When should I consider euthanasia?

We understand that every pet, illness and situation are different and there is no single right time. Knowing when euthanasia should be considered depends on your pet’s health, and it is often helpful to look at the quality of life your pet is experiencing, sometimes keeping a log of the good days vs. the not so good day can help us have a clearer understanding. When the time comes, it is important to get information from your veterinarian on the specific medical conditions.

Can you stay with your cat during euthanasia?

It is also important to consider that people say goodbye to their pet in many ways, and at different times during the euthanasia. You may decide that you do not want to be present for the euthanasia, you may want to sit with your pet afterwards, everyone is different, and that is ok.
